The CEO/designer of StephCherie Designs, she was born in New Brunswick, NJ and at the age of 3 her mother moved them to Jacksonville, FL. She has been designing and sketching women’s apparel since 1993.
Her desire to be a fashion designer was influenced by her mother who created clothing for herself and her daughter, as well as sewing church choir robes. At middle school age, she was designing prom dresses and since then, her desire has increased. Her life experience along with family support has given her the confidence to pursue her dreams.
Education
She graduated from Florida State University (FSU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in “Clothing, Textiles, and Merchandising” and a minor in Art in 2006. While attending FSU, she participated in the study abroad program with Mr. Mac, other professors, and classmates during summer 2004. They traveled to Paris and London for a little over a month visiting different design studios, textile companies, fashion exhibits, fashion museums, and fashion shows. On her weekend, she and friends traveled to Athens, Greece for relaxation and site-seeing.
Work Experience
She interned with Sean John clothing studio during the summer of 2006 and gained experience in Adobe Illustrator and more. She also worked for the Cache clothing store briefly after college graduation, for merchandising experience.
